American Engineering Corporation (AEC) recently contributed ¥500,000 to Misato Children’s Home, reaffirming our long-standing commitment to supporting the children and young adults who grow up there.
The donation will help cover rent for graduates as they take their first steps towards independence- whether continuing their education or starting their careers.

The presentation ceremony was held at AEC’s Head Office, welcoming Chairman Inamine and former Principal Maekawa of Misato Children’s Home.
At the event, Director Inamine shared: “In the 2024 school year, four of our students graduated and are embarking on new journeys. Your continued support is invaluable and gives our children a strong boost as they step forward.”
His words reflect the deep care of the adults guiding these children and the crucial role of community support in helping them thrive.
Currently, Misato Children’s Home serves 42 children. While the number of children needing assistance in Okinawa has been gradually decreasing, living independently after graduation—especially renting an apartment on their own—remains a major challenge.
For those without family support, assistance with rent provides a stable foundation, allowing them to focus on their studies and work with confidence.
While the donation amount may seem modest on its own, AEC’s support over the past half-century has never been just a one-time gesture.
Taken together, it has become a significant source of stability for the children and the community.
We value this long-term commitment and will continue to stand alongside the community.
Regarding this donation, AEC’s President remarked: “Creating a safe foundation for young people to thrive strengthens the entire community and contributes to Okinawa’s sustainable development. We will continue to support initiatives that empower children and deepen our impact on society.”
Helping children feel secure as they envision their futures—that is our mission. AEC will continue to support their growth and independence, not just through donations, but by collaborating with everyone in the community who shares this vision.
